| CATCH FISH NOW! on Florida's East
Coast
is about the 400 miles or so of coastline highlighted above. But
obviously,
we'll be talking about a lot more than just coastline. Here are just a
few of the interesting (and fishy) features that make the East Coast a
sensational place to fish. |
-
Immensely fertile estuaries full of sea grass, oyster bars, salt
marshes,
and an intricate network of tidal creeks and rivers.
-
An Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) that parallels the coastline and
provides
superb fishing opportunities the length of the state.
-
A famed 165-mile long lagoon that hosts over 700 species of fish and is
a frequent location of new world records.
-
Fourteen inlets that connect incredibly rich inland waters with an
Atlantic
Ocean that shares the same characteristic.
-
Three ports that provide homes for some of Florida's largest game
fish.
-
An Atlantic surf that provides miles and miles of near-shore structure
that's always loaded with fish.
-
Fifteen ocean piers that bring a significant additional dimension to
fishing
the surf and near-shore waters.
-
Literally hundreds of artificial reef sites complemented by an
abundance
of natural fish-attracting bottom features.
-
The incredible river of warm water called the Gulf Stream - that at
places
comes within eyesight of the beach.
-
And then, there's Biscayne Bay..

| And that hardly does justice, even as an intro, to Florida's
East Coast.
There's lots more as you'll see shortly. |
